Office of High Sheriff
The role of the High Sheriff which was founded around 1,000 years in Saxon times is to primarily provide support to the Crown and Judiciary systems, however the role has evolved over time.
The modern High Sheriff is there to actively provide support for the community as a whole, offering support to crime prevention & reduction agencies, emergency & volunteer services as well as working with young people in the local areas.
The key roles of the High Sheriff of Worcestershire include:
To actively promote and support the community
To ensure that Crown and Judiciary systems in the local area are supported
The current High Sheriff of Worcestershire is Edward Holloway.
